Introducing

The focus of lead-o-logy will engage and build diverse leaders in the community to improve teaching and learning, school culture, and equitable instruction. This passion of leadership aligns the purpose of what “service” really means in education. I believe lead-o-logy will strengthen leadership voice for influence in educational policy and instructional practice. By recognizing and deeply understanding educational headlines, whether they are connected to strong instructional practices or barriers to why minority students are performing below grade level, lead-ology’s ideals will personally leverage thought partnerships through collaboration with like minded professionals to respond effectively as change agents. I believe that service leadership builds resilience and is needed in education to solve problems and disrupt the status quo of inequities. Lead-o-logy was developed to nurture leaders in meaning-making to understand the purpose during the process. The ideals of lead-o-logy are designed with a leader based focus to deepen the “why” of student outcomes and “how” to make an impact through intentional practices. I encourage you to reflect on the leadership blogs, engage in the learning series, and utilize the resources to build your capacity as a leader.
